Redevelopment of Block X
Block X is not merely a building, it is an academic park with trees and lawns, open space and sitting benches, café and student centres, ideal for the bookworms; it is a circulation hub fitted with lifts, escalators, ramps, stairs and all sorts of pedestrian access to every corner of the university, even isolated island campus sites; it is a state-of-art research and recreational facility completed with advanced laboratories, all-weather swimming pool and indoor soccer field; it is in essence a prototype for every university campus.
Hong Kong International Airport Data Centre and Multipurpose Building
As an integral part of the digital and maintenance infrastructure for the Hong Kong International Airport’s Three-Runway System (3RS), this one-of-a-kind state-of-art high-tier data centre and vehicle maintenance depot facility cum airport office accommodation will create an all new infrastructural platform of virtual and physical technologies to cope with the Hong Kong International Airport’s future air traffic growth and to maintain Hong Kong’s competitiveness as an international aviation hub.
The Addi+ion
Set in a neighbourhood of one of the oldest residential settlement on the Kowloon Peninsula and a historical gathering ground for the vanished Tanka fishermen before its reclamation, this modern 27-storey apartment tower outfitted with retail and clubhouse facilities at podium levels attempts to re-invent its disappearing urban context, which dated back for centuries. As a metaphor, the building resembles a collage of a densely-populated boxed-in dwelling flats randomly staggering on each other to harbor the birth of a new cityscape.
Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks
Data Technology Hub is a pilot project spearheaded by Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) with the initiative to support the development of science and technology and the re-industrialization of Hong Kong. The development is modern and hi-tech with a focus on high-end, highly customizable and growing technology evolution in relation to new generation of consumer products embedded with Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. DT Hub serves to stimulate an encouraging working environment, well-designed with modern office provisions, recreational facilities as well as a large communal landscaped garden essential for a collaborative working environment.
In the advanced technology sector, work can take place on virtual platforms defined by personal parameters. This assumed indifference is manifested across from one’s lap to work desks and stations through to the premises hosting these powerhouse – often isolated and clustered within a space. This project aims to explore this paradox to define the balance in productivity as well as the relationship between connectivity and data exchange as well as the correlation of the spatiality of the workspace itself.
West Kowloon Government Offices
On completion, the proposed twin towers will provide over 79,000 square meters of office space for the government, as well as a number of arts and educational venues. The notion of an open and transparent government is fully conveyed via a series of carefully formulated and interconnected civic spaces and public platforms throughout the buildings to encourage community engagement and promote cultural awareness. As a threshold between one of the oldest settlement on Kowloon Peninsula and the fading waterfront to the west, every effort is exploited to re-establish the connection between the people, the government and Hong Kong’s ever-elusive shoreline.
